As you might have noticed from our recent news posts, things are going well at Unseen on the 'fair' side of things. Our list of participating galleries at the inaugural edition of Unseen is increasing and we are excited to feature these galleries in our twice-weekly gallery spotlights. What about the 'festival' side of things? The accompanying programme of events, tours, film screenings and exhibitions is in the works, and so far highlights include the Unseen Collection (a selection of works for a lower price to attract first-time buyers), the Offprint Book Fair (a fair of independent photography book publishers) and the launch of Foam Magazine’s Talent issue.
Foam Magazine is an international photography magazine published quarterly, co-produced by Foam Amsterdam and branding agency Vandejong. Each year, Foam Magazine dedicates its fall issue to 15 selected young talents. A 'young talent' has been defined as “someone of a young age (18-35 years old) who has outstanding skills or abilities [and who may] indicate developments, trends and themes that are of importance to a new generation of artists.”
Both Unseen and Foam Magazine, especially the Talent issue, embrace exciting and emerging developments in the world of contemporary photography. The launch of this year's Foam Magazine Talent issue will actually take place at Unseen, and will include a large billboard exhibition in the surrounding Westerpark.
Are you a young talent and interested in being featured in Foam Magazine? You have until 16 April to submit to Foam Talent Call 2012. Find out more about submission requirements and additional information requested.
